About Extract Data from Invoice (Invoice OCR)

Extracts likely fields from an invoice photo — vendor, invoice number, invoice date, due date, subtotal, tax, total — using pattern matching (looking for “Invoice #” or a dollar amount near “Total”) rather than genuine document understanding.

Works reasonably on standard, simply-formatted invoices. Unusual layouts can cause fields to be missed or misread, which is exactly why every field is presented as editable rather than final.

Exports to JSON (all fields plus full raw text) or CSV. Always verify extracted amounts against the original invoice before relying on them, especially for anything financial.

How do I extract data from an invoice?

Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image of the invoice. The tool reads it with OCR and fills in vendor, invoice number, invoice date, due date, subtotal, tax and total. Edit any field, then export JSON or CSV.

Can I extract data from a PDF invoice?

Not directly, because this tool accepts images only. Export or screenshot the invoice page as a JPG or PNG first. For a scanned multi-page PDF, the OCR PDF tool will give you the raw text, though not the labeled fields.

How accurate is the extracted invoice data?

The fields come from pattern matching around labels like invoice number, due date and total, so simple, standard invoices work reasonably and unusual layouts can be missed. Every field is editable and the full text is shown for checking. English only.

Are my invoices uploaded to a server?

No. The OCR runs inside your browser, so the invoice image stays on your device. The first use downloads the OCR engine and English language data, then your browser caches it. Nothing is sent for processing.
