About JPG to PNG Converter
Converting JPG to PNG is most often about needing transparency or lossless quality that JPG’s format doesn’t support β JPG has no transparency channel at all, so if you need an image with a see-through background, it has to be PNG (or another format that supports transparency) from that point forward.
One thing worth knowing: converting a JPG to PNG doesn’t add transparency automatically or improve quality beyond what the original JPG already had β PNG is lossless going forward, but it can’t recover detail that JPG’s compression already discarded when the file was first saved. If you need an actually transparent background, that requires removing the background content itself, not just changing the file format.
PNG files are typically larger than equivalent JPGs, which is the trade-off for lossless quality β worth keeping in mind if file size matters for where the image is headed (a website, an email attachment), since a straight JPG-to-PNG conversion will usually increase file size for the same visual content.
