About Photo Metadata Remover
Remove the hidden data inside your photos before you share them. Every picture taken with a phone or camera can carry metadata: the GPS location where it was taken, the date and time, the device model, the camera settings and the software that edited it. This tool deletes that information and gives you a clean copy of the image. It works on JPG, PNG and WebP pictures, handles many files at once, and runs entirely in your browser, so your photos are never uploaded.
Why delete image metadata? A photo posted online or sent to a stranger can reveal your home address, your routine or the device you use. Many social networks strip some of it, but not all sites, email attachments or messaging apps do. Cleaning the file yourself first is the safe way to remove metadata from a photo, for example before you sell something online, send a picture to a client or publish a picture on a blog.
How it works: the picture is redrawn and saved again, so only the visible pixels are kept. Nothing in the original file, including EXIF tags, GPS coordinates, thumbnails and colour profile information, is carried over. Download each cleaned picture with a “-clean” file name and keep your original.
Good to know: because the image is saved again, a JPEG or WebP is re-encoded at high quality (95%), so the file size can change slightly and you may see no visible difference. PNG stays lossless. Animated WebP files keep only the first frame. The tool does not show you which metadata was in the file, and it cannot remove information that is visible in the picture itself, such as a street sign or a face.
