About Click Speed Test (CPS Test)

Find out how many times per second you can click. Press the big button to start: the timer begins on your very first click and stops automatically when time is up. You get your clicks per second (CPS), the total number of clicks, a rating, and a small graph showing how many clicks you made in each second, so you can see whether you started fast and faded or kept a steady pace.

Choose a test length of 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 or 100 seconds. Short tests measure your burst speed, while 30 to 100 second tests show what you can actually sustain. Your personal best for each length is saved in your own browser (never sent anywhere) so you can try to beat it tomorrow, and your five most recent attempts are listed under the result.

It works with a mouse, a trackpad and touch screens, and you can optionally let the Space bar count as a click. The score is simply total clicks divided by the test length.

How to read your result: roughly 3 to 5 CPS is typical for casual users, 6 to 8 CPS is good, and anything above about 9 usually comes from practised techniques such as jitter clicking or butterfly clicking. The rating bands are our own rough guide, not an official standard. This page does not try to detect auto-clickers, so treat scores shared online with that in mind. Results also depend on your mouse, the browser and how your device handles rapid input.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a good CPS score?

Most people land between 4 and 6 CPS on a 10 second test. About 6 to 8 CPS is good, and 9 or more is fast and normally needs a practised technique. Longer tests give lower averages because it is hard to keep a top speed for 30 seconds or more.

How is clicks per second calculated?

CPS is your total number of clicks divided by the test length in seconds. For example, 70 clicks in a 10 second test is 7.0 CPS. The timer starts on your first click, not when the page loads.

How can I click faster?

Rest your hand loosely, keep your finger close to the button and use short, light movements. Many players practise jitter clicking (tensing the arm so the finger vibrates) or butterfly clicking (alternating two fingers on one button). Those techniques can strain your hand, so take breaks and stop if you feel pain.

Is my personal best saved or shared?

Your best score for each test length is stored only in your browser's local storage on your own device. Nothing is uploaded, and clearing your browser data removes it. The Copy result button lets you share a score yourself if you want to.
