About Open Graph Preview Tool

Open Graph tags control how a link looks when shared on social media and messaging apps β€” the title, description, and image shown in that preview card, separate from what the page itself displays to a visitor.

This tool shows a live preview of how a page will appear when shared, based on its Open Graph tags, letting you catch a broken image, a truncated title, or a missing description before actually sharing the link publicly.

A broken or missing social preview is a common, easily-avoidable mistake β€” checking before sharing, especially for anything important, takes seconds and prevents a visibly unpolished link from going out.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Open Graph?

Open Graph is a set of meta tags, created by Facebook, that tell social platforms which title, description, image and URL to show when someone shares your page. Messaging apps and other social sites read the same tags to build their link preview cards.

What is an Open Graph image?

It is the picture named in the og:image tag, shown as the large thumbnail when your link is shared. Use a full https URL to an image you control. A wide image around 1200 by 630 pixels is the commonly recommended size. Paste the URL into the Image URL field to preview it.

What are Open Graph tags?

They are meta tags in your page head with an og: prefix, such as og:title, og:description, og:image, og:url and og:site_name. Paste your page's tags into the auto-fill box and this tool reads them, then shows how the card is laid out.

Does this tool show exactly how my link looks on Facebook, LinkedIn or X?

No. It renders one generic share card from your title, description, image, site name and URL. Each platform crops and truncates differently, so treat it as a layout check and confirm final results in each platform's own debugger or by sharing a test post.
